Ghislaine Danlois was a victim of the international swindler Fréderic de Hedervary, aka Ric Blum, in 2006. At that time, she was a lonely widow living in Belgium where she met him for the first time and fell in love. He was so persuasive and convincing that in a few weeks she agreed to follow him to Australia and marry him. Ghislaine sold her house, her car, emptied her bank accounts and packed her luggage for what she believed to be a fantastic trip with her new lover. But her dream turned into a nightmare. Her Prince Charming was actually a swindler and disappeared with her life savings and most prized possessions. At 72, Ghislaine was forced to start again. While succeeding for a time, she is now almost 90 years-old, still healthy, but fast running out of money to live. Ghislaine would like to be able to spend more time with her 13 grandchildren and visit her sons and daughter between France and Belgium more often.
